Velvet Brown is her debut feature as a writer-director, emerging directly from this lived landscape.

Sarah Sherman is a director and screenwriter known for performance-driven, emotionally grounded storytelling. Her debut feature Thunderbolt in Mine Eye (released as Young Hearts) premiered at Slamdance and was later acquired by HBO Max. She brings a collaborative directing approach and deep experience guiding nuanced, character-led performances.
